Umar Munir Abubakar
Acting Managing Director/CE |
Umar Munir Abubakar was born, 6th June 1951, in Bauchi, Nigeria. He had his primary education at Kobi Primary School, Bauchi from 1959 – 1964 before proceeding for his secondary education at the Government Secondary School, Bauchi from 1965 – 1969. He had his Higher School Certificate (HSC) at the same GSS Bauchi from 1970 – 1971.
U.M. Abubakar holds a B. Sc. Degree Social Sciences with specialization in Government studies from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1975, a Certificate in Administrative Management from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1976 and another Certificate in Administrative Management from the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) Badagry, 1980. From 1981 – 1982 he attended the University of Pittsburgh, USA, and obtained a Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA).
Malam Abubakar started his working career with the Bauchi State Government in 1976 as an Assistant Secretary. He was posted to various Ministries and rose through the ranks to become a Senior Assistant Secretary, Principal Assistant Secretary and Deputy Secretary. In 1983, he was seconded to the newly established Federal University of Technology (Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University ATBU Bauchi) as a Senior Assistant Registrar to help establish the administrative machinery of the new institution. He rose to become Principal Assistant Registrar in charge of Administration, Establishments and Council Matters. He was de-seconded to the State Service and appointed the first Registrar, Bauchi State Institute for Higher Education (BASIHE). In 1984, he was posted back to the mainstream civil service as a Principal Secretary Civil Service Commission. That same year he was appointed Permanent Secretary Minisry of Health. He was later posted as Permanent Secretary General Admin Cabinet office and Permanent Secretary Government House Bauchi
In 1988 he was appointed Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Labour & Productivity. He joined the services of the Fund as Deputy Director, Special Duties in 1990. He has held various positions in the Fund such as AGM Maiduguri Zonal Office, AGM Lagos Island Office, AGM Lagos Operations, GM Admin, GM Compliance, Head, General Admin. He was appointment Acting Executive Director (Administration) in April 2005 and in January 2006, he became substantive Executive Director, a post he holds till date.
As a seasoned Administrator, he has attended several courses in Nigeria and abroad. He is married with Children. |

Chinweorder C. Awa
Head, ICT |
Mr. Awa was born in 1955 and completed his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Computer Science at the University of Ibadan and University of Lagos in 1978 and 1983 respectively. He also earned an MBA (Banking & Finance) from Enugu State University of Science & Technology in 1997.
His Information and Communication Technology working experience includes his tenure at:
• Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC (1980-1985)
• African Continental Bank Ltd, ACB (1985-1987)
• Savannah Bank Nigeria Plc. (1987-1992)
• Allied Bank Plc, where he was Head of Computer Services from 1992-1998
He joined the Fund in 1999 as DGM (Information Technology) from BPS Technologies Ltd where he was Executive Director,Operations(1998 - 1999). |

Ismail Mohammed Agaka
Head, Special Duties |
Currently the Head, Special Duties, Ismail Agaka was born in 1963 and obtained B.Sc (International Studies) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1983.
In 1986, He joined the Federal Ministry of Labour & Productivity, as Labour Officer and in January 1990, became the Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister.
He joined the Fund in November 1990 and has worked as Branch Manager of Katsina, Niger and Lagos Island Branch offices. He was deployed to the Head office, as Head, Personnel/Industrial Relations between 1996 and August 2002. He was Special Assistant to the Managing Director/CE from September 2002 to March 2007.

Danladi Sani Magaji
Head, Operations |
Mr. Danladi Sani Magaji, is an Assistant General Manager and Head, Operations Department of the Fund. He was born in Kano on 7th June 1954. He obtained a Bsc. Political Science, from Ahmadu Bello University, in 1979. He attended the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) in 1982 for a program in Manpower Development and Training.
He was at the International Labour Training Centre, Turin, Italy for a course in Pension Management in 1998. He obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Finance and Material Management in 1999 from University of Maiduguri. In March 2007 he attended a seminar on Occupational Diseases, Monitoring, Recognition and Compensation, organized by the International Social Security Association (ISSA), in Cameroon.
In 1980 he joined the services of the Borno State Government as an Assistant Administrative Officer immediately on completion of his National Youth Service Corps. He rose through the ranks to the post of Assistant Director. D.S. Magaji, joined the Fund as a Senior Manager in 1995 and rose to his current position as AGM, Operations. He worked as Branch Manager in Maiduguri, Kano, and FCT, as Acting Zonal Manager, before his subsequent deployment to the Head office as Head, Compliance Enforcement in 2004 and later Head, Operations Department. |

Olufunke Motunrayo Aleshinloye(Mrs.)
Head, Admin & Human Resources |
Born on 18th May 1960, Mrs Olufunke Motunrayo Aleshinloye, obtained an LLB. Degree from the University of Ife and was called to the Bar in 1981. She later proceeded to the University of Bath, UK, where she obtained an Msc. Degree in Industrial Relations in 1984. Mrs. Aleshinloye joined the services of the Fund as a State Council grade II on 2nd January 1986.
Following the Commercialization of the Fund, O. M. Aleshinloye was promoted to the rank of a Manager in 1995. She was posted to the Legal Department, Head Office in 1996 and promoted to the rank of Senior Manager. She became a Principal Manager in 2000 and was deployed to the Head office, Abuja as Head, Personnel and Industrial Relations in 2004.
That same year, Mrs. Aleshinloye was promoted to the rank of Assistant General Manager and consequently, became the Head, Admin & Human Resources. She is a Member of The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria and is happily married with Children. |

Esedebe Chris Uwabu; BSc (Industrial Mathematics), MSc (Finance & Social Protection), ACA

Mr. Esedebe Chris joined the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) in June 1990 as a programmer in the ICT Department where he rose to become the Head, Lagos Computer Centre, reporting to the Deputy General Manager, ICT/South. He held this post up to October 2004 when he left for a Management sponsored post graduate studies abroad. On resumption, he was deployed to the Actuarial Department as the Acting Head.
Chris Esedebe, a graduate of Industrial Mathematics from the University of Benin (1984), holds a joint Masters Degree (Social Protection and Financial Management, specializing on Social Protection Financing) from Maastricht University, Maastricht, Netherlands (2005). He is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) (2000) and Institute of Benefits and Trust Management (IBTM) (2007).
He has served in many technical and management committees of the Fund. He was a member of the technical committee that handled the update of NPF Members Account (1989 to 1994) which cleared the way for the transformation of the NPF scheme to NSITF scheme in July 1994, 2YK Committee, Conversion of Access/FoxPro Flat Files to Oracle Database platform, Pension Assets Transfer Committee, amongst others. He was a member of an NSITF 3-man team on study tour of Ghanaian Social Security outfit in 2001. He briefly served as Special Assistant to the Managing Director/CE, attending to all requests on policy (financial & non financial), analysis and advisory on social security and related issues.
Mr. Esedebe is currently in charge of Projects and a member of the 8-member Senior Management Team that is responsible for all strategic decision making for the organization and the NSITF scheme. He is happily married with 3 children. |

Ibrahim Wakawa
Head, Legal Services |
Mr. Ibrahim Wakawa was born in July 1960. He attended the University of Maiduguri where he obtained an LL.B Hon. Degree in 1981 after which he proceeded to the Nigeria, Law School Lagos in 1982 and obtained his BL. He is a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
From 1983 – 1984, he worked with the Ministry of Justice, Yola, in the defunct Gongola State (Adamawa State), as State Council Grade I.
From 1984 – 1993, he went into private practice where he joined the legal firm of D.N. Baba & Associates, Yola.
Ibrahim Wakawa, joined the services of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, as an Assistant manager (Legal) in 1994 and risen to the rank of Assistant General Manager (AGM) in 2006. He attended so many courses amongst which are:
- Euromony Training – Pension Fund Strategy, Tanzania, 2004
- Banking and Loans Documentations – Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Unilag, Lagos, 19
